Yesterday, today and tomorrow!

Mission is the pulse beat of the church. Before 1914 the Adventists in Germany listed the highest membership growth in the world. However since 1955 there hasn’t been much growth. In fact, the last quarter of the century (since 1980) the Adventist church has shrunk by 10.000 members. Looking back, the Adventist climax and decrease has never been so viewable in any other country. What is wrong with Germany? Is Adventist mission still possible in our post-modern society today? Which missionary model in history is still relevant today? And which status does the Adventist message take as the “present truth” in mission and evangelism today? Does it still have priority before methods and strategies? A reawakening of the Adventist core message connected with approved evangelistic behaviour patterns under the changed circumstances of our time could declare a new dynamic in the Adventist mission in Germany.

The topics of the 2 units are:

   • Back to the future – learning from history
   • Mission in Germany– still works today
