Workshop: ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING OR ALREADY ALIVE? (2 units) |
Carsten Reinhold |
Too many Christians are still dawning in spiritual mediocrity and feel at ease with it. Yet, more and more are longing for a life of radical dedication to a mighty God, empowered by the Holy Spirit. They know that they need help from above. According to the Bible this help by the Holy Spirit is called: latter rain, refreshment, revival. Which difference does the Holy Spirit achieve in a revival? What does revival look like in the world of today? What are the premises and the consequences? These and many more questions will be answered in this workshop. The topics of the 2 units are: • It is time – Arise! • The act of God – it’s starting to rain! Does God have grandchildren? Carsten grew up in an Adventist home, but realized in his teenage years that God has no grandchildren but only children. Step by step he got to know and started loving God as his personal father. After recieving the call from God to become a Pastor, he studied theology in Austria and America. Today he is a Pastor serving in the church district of Lindau. Carsten’s biggest wish is that God will finish his work with the youth of this generation. What would it be like to say on day in future: Earlier on we thought we could change the world – today we know that God did it through us? |

In the second unit we’ll put into practice what we’ve just learned. So bring your bible along and let’s discover how fascinating and exciting the bible really is! The topics of the 2 units are: • How to study the bible in an effective and enthusiastic way • From theory to practice Christian Vogel, originally from Germany, has been living in Austria for the last ten years. Workshop: ADVENTIST MISSION IN EUROPE (2 units) |
Daniel Heinz |
Mission is the pulse beat of the church. Before 1914 the Adventists in Germany listed the highest membership growth in the world. However since 1955 there hasn’t been much growth. In fact, the last quarter of the century (since 1980) the Adventist church has shrunk by 10.000 members. Looking back, the Adventist climax and decrease has never been so viewable in any other country. What is wrong with Germany? Is Adventist mission still possible in our post-modern society today? Which missionary model in history is still relevant today? And which status does the Adventist message take as the “present truth” in mission and evangelism today? Does it still have priority before methods and strategies? A reawakening of the Adventist core message connected with approved evangelistic behaviour patterns under the changed circumstances of our time could declare a new dynamic in the Adventist mission in Germany. The topics of the 2 units are: • Back to the future – learning from history • Mission in Germany– still works today Daniel Heinz is an ordained Pastor. After ministering in Austria he accepted a teaching position and the administration of the Theological Department at the Adventist Seminary Seminar Schloss Bogehofen in Austria. Since 1997 he is the Director of the Historical Archive of Adventists in Europe and also lecturer at the Friedensau Adventist University in Germany. |

Workshop: EVERY DAY LIFE IN - GOD OUT? (4+2 units) |
Erhard Biró |
What does lifestyle have to do with being a disciple of Jesus? We live in a pluralistic world, often without standards and values. Are there guidelines in the bible that will change and positively influence my life? While we ask ourselves these questions, we want to avoid two extremes: (1) Salvation through works by following principles and (2) the attitude, principles are unimportant since they have no effect on salvation. |

Workshop: IN THE CHOKEHOLD OF SPIRITUALISM (4+2 units) |
Gerhard Padderatz |
For a very long time the US has been an example to the rest of the world concerning democracy, human rights and religious liberty. However, 30 years ago a religious-political battle began, which retransformed the classiest values from America with lighting speed into the opposite. Led by evangelical fundamentalists and supported by millions of religious zealots, a group of conservative politicians want to reclaim the country for the dominion of Christ. Doing this they become more and more willing to use force and violence to reach those goals. Before our eyes the prophecy of the lamb speaking like a dragon is fulfilled, which symbolises America according to the book of Revelation. What role does a perception of a God play, who tortures unbelievers for eternity, and what about the principle, the end justifies the means? With today’s America we see the beginning of the end of world history. The topics of the 4 units are: • Christianity "Made in USA" • The Christian takeover in America • The US in prophecy • The Christian face of today’s spiritualism Gerhard Padderatz has studied theology, history and communication. He was not only a lecturer for church history, but founded his own management consultant company 20 years ago, of which he is still the Managing Director today. He is the president of ASI Germany and vice-president of ASI Europe. In one of his books (Allmächtig, Ohnmächtig, Gerecht? – mission book of the year) he portrays a dialog with an unbeliever. The title of his newest book is: "Mit Gewalt in den Gottesstaat – Steuert Amerika in den Faschismus?" |

Workshop: GOD SEARCHING FOR HIS SAINTS (2 units) |
Heinz Hopf |
Have you ever asked yourself the question, how you can stay close to Jesus without wondering astray? Is there any biblical formula that shows us how to deal successfully with the power of distraction and without falling back? How can I really overcome sin and how will this change my life? Let's go on a journey to find an ancient formula that hasn't lost it's power unto this day. The topics of the 2 units are: • They came, saw and stayed • Love-relationship or patchwork-relationship? Heinz Hopf has been a Youth Counsellor and church Pastor for many years in many different churches. He has also served as the Director for Voice of Prophecy in Germany and later as the President of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Conference. Workshop: I SAW THE LAMB (4+2 units) |
Jiří Moskala |
The main message of Revelation 14:6-13 is not about the beast, the mark of the beast, keeping of the commandment of God, 666, or the perseverance of the saints (even though it is all important), but about the Lamb, Jesus Christ. The three Angel's message is the Gospel; it means good news about our awesome God. We will deal with questions like: How to speak about God's judgment and not lose one's mind? How to overcome anxiety and have the joy and assurance of salvation? Revelation 14 is a crucial message which needs to prepare people for the second coming of Christ. The topics of the 4 units are: • Jesus - the center of all life. • How to expect divine judgment without going crazy? • The panorama of God's judgment at its best. • God's first imperative for you. Jiří Moskala is professor of Old Testament exegesis and theology at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary on the campus of Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Prior to coming to Andrews, Moskala served as a pastor and teacher in the Czech Republic. He has a doctor of philosophy from Andrews University. His dissertation is entitled: "The Laws of Clean and Unclean Animals of Leviticus 11: Their Nature, Theology, and Rationale (An Intertextual Study)". He has authored several books in the Czech language and translated Ellen White's Ministry of Healing and Patriarchs and Prophets. He is married and has five children. |

Workshop: I LIKE YOU (2 units) |
J. & S. Fockner |
Dreams. Disappointments. Tears. Anger. Self doubt. Emptiness. All this because of 'true love'? Is the reward for closeness always vulnerability? Or have we, living in the 21st century, become incapable of relationships? Judith and Sven have experienced their share of disappointment and vulnerability, but they have also experienced the beauty of fulfilled love. They have learned from their own experience and studied what other people have learned from their encounter with relationships. Their experience and the principles which they are going to share, will help you to take an active part in matters of love – whether you are single or in a relationship, happily or unhappily. Judith and Sven are married since September 2004 and have just graduated from Andrews University. Sven will start his internship as a Youth Pastor in autumn 2007 in the Baden-Wuerttemberg Conference. Sven likes pizza Magherita with pineapple and pizza Hawaii without ham. ;-) |

What about sex before or outside of marriage? When is too far too far? We will also talk about intimacy - how God planed it (godly sex) and about disturbed intimacy (sex as a trap).
